Karen Walker was born in Auckland. She launched her eponymous fashion label in the late 1980s and showed at New York Fashion Week for twenty consecutive seasons from 2006 to 2016. Today her work is sold worldwide. 

Karen is committed to responsible, ethical sourcing, and her company partners

with the African production company Artisan.Fashion to produce accessories 
of social significance. In 2004, she became a Member of the New Zealand Order

of Merit, and, in 2014, she was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order 
of Merit for services to fashion design.
